Johnnie & Betty Barner Triumph Award

Established in 2004, this scholarship fund was created by the family of Johnnie Barner in his memory. The fund provides an annual scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a minority student entering their sophomore year at Grand Rapids Community College. To qualify, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA, demonstrate leadership, and have participated in community service activities. Students receiving this scholarship will receive an engraved plaque from the family of Johnnie Barner, and will also have the opportunity to make contributions in the future to this fund.
