Robert Garlough International Competition & Travel Fund

This fund was established to support GRCC’s Secchia Institute for Culinary Education (SICE) student international competition and study-tour travel activities. The fund is named after retired Secchia Institute for Culinary Education Chef Emeritus, professor and GRCC’s founding Culinary Program Director—-Robert Garlough. This fund is available to full-time Secchia Institute for Culinary Education students who have achieved a minimum of 12 Secchia Institute for Culinary Education credits at GRCC, and who have achieved a minimum of a 2.0 GPA at the time of application. Only international travels, sponsored by or in conjunction with Secchia Institute for Culinary Education, will be supported through this fund. Recipients of this grant will be required to present pre-travel details including estimated costs and competition/study tour details. Upon travel return, recipients will be required to present a summary of their experience and how it will be used in their culinary career or continued studies. Grants may be awarded to no more than three recipients per year, and may not exceed $ 500 per recipient. A recipient may not receive more than one grant from this fund, but may use it in conjunction with other scholarships and awards. Exceptions to these criteria must be approved by the donor.
