Kathey Klein Dental Hygiene Program

This scholarship was established by Armen Oumedian (GRJC ‘43) in honor of his daughter Kathey Klein who is a graduate of the GRCC Dental Hygiene Program from the Class of 1973. The GRCC Dental Hygiene Program is a minimum 3-year program. Dental hygiene practice includes; obtaining clients’ medical and dental histories, conducting extraoral and intraoral examinations, performing diagnostic procedures, providing complete oral prophylaxis (scaling and polishing teeth) and polishing restorations and placing pit and fissure sealants. GRCC’s program in dental hygiene is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association, a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation and by the U.S. Department of Education. An annual scholarship will be awarded to student(s) enrolled in the GRCC Dental Hygiene Program. To qualify, applicants must have completed BI121, Human Anatomy and Physiology I, BI122-Human Anatomy and Physiology II, BI1270 General Microbiology, CHM210-Inorganic, and Organic, and Biochemistry classes and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is renewable for application for up to 3 years.
